Sometimes, life forces us to change direction.
I have set upon the broken path,
the limbs that once carried me
have collapsed beneath the weight
of my wavering devotion.

I reassess my mission,
and strive for greater understanding
of the task set before me.
I am to become a knight,
but as of yet I know no master.

I call from the depths of my heart,
and ask for guidance from within,
yet the answer evades my grasp.
I am lost, and afraid,
staring down divergent paths
that lead to unknown places.

I am lost, trapped by fear
that the answer may be more painful
than the uncertainty.

I return to my beginnings,
a shell of my former self,
waiting
for that which I do not know.
Waiting,
            for a signal,
on how to rebuild my life.

Little did I know
        I would rebuild
                a way of life!
