----------
I saw a war on TV, just the other day
I dont know where its happening, its very far away
I wonder why they're fighting, I wonder why they hate
I wonder why they do not stop, it cannot be that great

I saw a war on TV, just the other day
I didnt really think of it, wanted to go and play
But then it suddenly struck me, it doesnt seem so right
to kill and kill without a cause, that couldnt be alright

I saw a war on TV, just the other day
My daddy went to fight in it, my daddy went away
Im really scared he won't come back, that he will never see
Me growing up or making friends, or laughing out with glee

I saw a war on TV just the other day
My daddy should have never gone, but still he went away
He got shot, but why? for what?, my dad had done no wrong
He died that day to keep me safe, thats why I wrote this song

I wrote this song so you could see, just how proud I am
Of my dad, and every other fighting woman and man
They go to war despite the fact that that war maybe wrong
And so, to soldiers old and young I dedicate this song
