A lack of safety.
The stories I want to share with you
are hidden in my mind.
Yet, there you are with a wide
open resource; a solution to the
long fight.

You hold the option of safety
in your hands,
offering it to me,
tempting me to grab it and run.

You have a safe zone.

You talk about the safe environment,
your temporary home,
one with support and care,
only one call away.

But, safety seems too far away.

I want to share these untold
stories, the ones from last night
and the ones kept buried for
far too long.

              Only still, the threats remain.

They still lurk in the shadows,
waiting to attack and keep my
stories secret.

I want to unravel the
pieces of history and the yesterdays
spinning like
funnel clouds in my head.

The wish for safety is so great;
so necessary.
It is too risky.
This essential feeling will keep
you from knowing my identity.
I will ask you questions about your
safe zone,
and keep your number close.
I will always be just a
nameless, faceless, anon.
