What is a lie?
Words that kill and destroy,
insidious seeds that strip away joy.
A hurt that makes you cry.

What is a lie?
Promises broken,
truth left unspoken,
trust dies with a sigh.

What is a lie?
Dreams shattered,
hearts tattered,
no reason to try.

What is a lie?
Angry bees stinging inside.
A demon called guilt trying to hide.
An unwanted goodbye.

What is a lie?
Sorrow and pain that cut to the quick.
The devils most often used trick.
The reason love will die.
That is a lie
