A poem of sadness and despair.
Where is the place of my happiness?
Does it hide in the midst of madness?
Or develop through time and service?
Seems so far from me in my sadness,
Yet is so close it seems it taunts me.

Daily I am alive,
Breathing just to survive.
This torment consumes me.
In misery, I thrive.
Of pleasure, I deprive.

Why do I deny myself of so much?
Escaping to my cold cave of darkness,
Wanting to love, I feel I’m so helpless.
I admire all those who walk guiltless,
Thinking how it would feel. Still, I’m hopeless.
