So this is a poem. I don't usually write poems, but I've been on a role lately.
What is in a lie?
Is it the lack of truth, or detail?
What defines that line
Between fiction, or what's real
Does the sun sing through heat?
Or the moon cry blue light?
No one will ever know
Not what's right
Science proves nothing
We're always learning the new
Proving ourselves wrong
Twisting reality askew
My name could be Lauren
Or Sarah
Or even George
Not even God can tell me
For his ego will engorge
There is no power
Not even above the skies
That is urging us to live
So what is our purpose
If not to give?
The truth is a secret
One no one will ever know
So let the sands of time
Continue to flow
Where nobody reveals themselves
Their personalities, if you will
But only a moment, this illusion
Is what it takes to kill
