Heartbreak & melancholy--this poem plays a bit with format.
You're Gone

Last night, again,
you visited me in my dreams.
Why did you have to go away?
You left me here
                                                                                      alone.
Though you’re gone
you often walk with me.

It’s not enough.

You are with me in my dreams,
but even then...unreachable.

You haunt me, inspire me
but all the while I long—
I miss you, come back to me.

Just don’t say you’re gone.
