Short Story written for the Daily Flash Fiction Contest :)
Cassidy closed her locker to find Ted glaring at her. She had no idea how long he was standing there, but she could tell he wasn’t happy. Cassidy had a pretty good idea why Ted was upset, but decided to play it cool and let him say his peace. “Hi Ted.” She said in the most pleasant tone she could.

“I know what you did.” Ted said.

“Oh yea? And what was that?

“You cut my story!” Ted yelled, causing a few passing students to look their way.

“I know Ted, and I’m sorry. There was nothing else I could do.” Cassidy said.

“Really? So you had to go with the lunch story?”

“Maybe not, but I couldn’t cut George’s story again. I cut it last week.”

“Why couldn’t you just cut one of the movie reviews?” Ted said as his face began to turn red.

“That’s one of our most popular sections Ted. I couldn’t cut any of those.”

“So you cut MY story?!”

“Ted, it wasn’t like that. I was just trying to be fair!” Cassidy said trying to get Ted to drop the subject. She turned on her heels and started toward her next class.

“Cassidy! We still have another day. You can put it back in.”

Cassidy turned around and shook her head, “No I can’t Ted, I’ve already given the final copy to Mr. Anderson.”

“You can! Why are you being so stubborn? Just because you’re the editor doesn’t mean you can cut a perfectly good story!”

“Ted, please just drop it!”

“No! You think you're better than everyone else don’t you?! Well trust me, your not!”

“Maybe you’re right, but at least I DO know that no one wants to read a story about the team mascot asking his imaginary friend to the prom!”
