My personal thoughts and reflections on my experiences with the Harry Potter book series.
I first heard of Harry Potter in our local bookstore with my six year old son years ago.Skimming through the first three books I thought to myself this sounds like a pretty good series, for kids.A few years later the movies started coming out and like all good mommy's I took my son, I had to hold back the enthusiasm again this was a movie for kids.Figuring out my secret obsession about three years ago my brother and my son gave me the books, feeling slightly embarrassed reading children's books, I waited until I had a good chunk of time on my hands before reading, chemotherapy treatments provided that solitude.I finished reading Harry Potter in June of 2010 the same month I finished chemotherapy, next year I will visit Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Today I will cry at the end of the final movie, and I will walk out of the theater feeling that this culture, this book series ,this phenomenon is not just for kids anymore.
