My experiments with a sort of end line phrase enjambment...
I stand on the brink of a chasm
And the choice is mine-

Mine, not yours or his or hers
Or the guy down the street's-

The street that we used to play on
When we were hot and tired and bored-

Bored with our lives and decisions
That we'd made so recklessly-

So recklessly I loved you
And everything you stood for-

You stood for hope, innocence
And magic in this life-

This life isn't like it was
When it was just the two of us-

The two of us with bright eyes
And all our lovely dreams-

Dreams left unfulfilled
When you left me all alone-

All alone I struggle.
All alone I stand-

I stand on the brink of a chasm
And the choice is mine.
