just kinda ran with an idea
the evolutionary scales
born to prove themselves
just as long as our souls
exposed & neatly placed on shelves

these feelings drop and instincts lie
meaning’s all but lost
each moment wasted time
for what it’s worth and at what cost

I’ve seen it all 1,000 times

the patterns fall and change my mind
they pass me by in death’s disguise
where Saturn turns and transmutes tides
a cavern hid by truth’s device

I’ve seen it all a thousand times through 1,000 eyes
each life lived is one day as a fly

from the window sill to the desk
the kitchen counter to the bed
every second weighs a ton
when each night’s a final rest
