a memory after you left
                The Chair
Early morning light washes across the abandoned room
The rocking chair in the corner brings a flood of emotions and memories
You would sit for hours
Silently rocking
I always wondered what you could see from there
One morning long after you were gone
That all too familiar lonely ache
Drove me to “your chair”
I found myself sitting quietly
Looking at the reflection of
“Our bed”
In the window glass
Suddenly I realized all those mornings
You were
Silently
Watching me
Silently
Watching you
