an account of every drunk youve met at the bar
I’ve gotten stuck in a hotel lobby where, conveniently, there is a bar.  I’d say convenient if you didn’t have some work to do.  Well, I’ll take that back; I am finding the perfect time to write this paper.
This one man’s story of the good old days has taken over the room as well my brain (but if I say so, they are wonderfully crafted tales).  They sound like he was talking about some kind of historical figure.  Like Magellan, he traveled the world and experienced all these great things, but for some reason is stuck in a bar during last call.  And right beside him is a cackling old lady who’s had too many drinks and is trying very hard to get a ride home.
But she’s not the problem; right now I’m in danger of having to sit through a firsthand account of the 70’s, seen through the eyes of ‘Drunk Man’.  This is since the last poor bastard he victimized actually died from boredom.  Everyone thinks he just passed out, but I know he’s dead. I saw a light beam down from heaven to guide his soul away from his body and away from that guy.
Now he’s looking around, casually turning his head from side to side until he saw me sitting down behind a computer by myself.  He gave a quick glance and then pretended to mind his own business and drink his beer.  But I saw what was in his eyes; he was thinking “I got a real good story to tell you”… the kind of story were it feels like the words are rocks being thrown at you.  So I must leave now before I get stoned to death.
