Wisdom from not hurting things
"Diamonds in a Bowl"

Taking a broken cane, diamonds flowing through the end
Trudging with slippery roots underfoot,
eating cockroaches found on the ground
Bees swarming everywhere, but
the rain, keeps falling down, and gold turns to copper, but
you notice it wears away the shape of the rocks, until you can
scoop it into your mouth, and drink from it, whenever you walk near it.
And you hop from rock to rock, the diamonds dumping into
the rock, you laugh as the diamonds falls into the rock, and
you collect the diamonds into the bowl, you have four left, enough
for your journey to the new city, after eons traveling.
But you are almost to the gate, and a messenger tells you,
you don't even need the diamonds.  He tells you what you have
already figured out yourself- that your work by patiently
walking, and waiting, the bowls filling up with water,
and sipping the water, is good enough, and you await
the golden city
