The question of who you are in your own eyes
What do you hear when I talk to you,
is it a song,
with joy,
like music in your ears,
or is it a screech,
a cry,
like the howling of a dog.

What do you see when I look at you,
is it happiness,
comfort,
a person to talk to,
or is it saddnes
hatred,
a person to avoid.

What do you do when I walk to you,
Do you smile,
come forth,
with arms wide open,
or do you run,
hide,
as if i offend you.

What do you feel when I'm around you,
is it safety,
chearfulness,
a moment to cherish,
or is it fear,
pain,
a moment of discomfort

These are questions for not I but you,
For in truth,
I am you.
