This is a poem written for a long lost love
Phoenix, I never told you how I truly feel
Hiding my feelings is far from ideal
You are my eternal sunshine
When I first met you, I knew it was a sign

With our love combined, everything was in reach
Our connection could not be breached
Words cannot express
How you have captured my heart with success

We met each other, some time ago
Since then my love for you did only grow
But since we went our separate ways
The pain felt as if it lasted too many days

I anxiously sat alone, awaiting our time ahead
Not being together, my heart feels dead
Without you here with me by my side
I felt like I had been washed away with the tide

I tried hard to fill an empty void
That you left behind, I felt destroyed
No matter what I did, nothing changed
Our love and affection became estranged

Every part of you is what I needed
Together, soon, we will have succeeded
Until soon, when we meet again
I will please you in whatever way I can

Until we can again hold and caress
I must say I have to confess
Until that day our love for each other we can reclaim
These feelings will never be tamed.
