Something I wrote when I was in an optimistic mood...
Shadows fade away,

Trees shake and sway,

Love turns to grief,

O, life, so brief.

Old men are laid to rest,

The worst are no longer the best,

Empires rise and fall,

O, the frailty of it all.

Rivers change their course,

Young voices become hoarse,

Laughter turns to tears,

O, how large our fears.

Our pages turn yellow,

We lose sight of our fellow,

Lovers turn away,

O, yesterday!

Yet the sun must rise.

Lovers run away,

Man evolves day to day,

God smiles from above,

O, how great is love!

Laughter fills our hearts again,

Evil will soon see its end,

For God smiles from above,

O, how great His love!

The sun does rise.
