Trying your best is good , but winning after trying your best is everything!
My mom standing on the sideline with a smile that begins at one ear and ends at the other. Basket of flowers and other sweet goodies in her muscular arms waiting for me to receive them all. Sweaty, exhausted, and overwhelmed as I ran across the finish line first. I had been waiting for this event for a while now and so had my impatient mother. I practiced and practiced it was hard work. When I arrived at the competition they handed out our pallor uniforms all with different color stripes. They also gave us a spoon full of scorching hot water enough to wet our mouth but not enough to make us have to use the bathroom. After that they gave us a chance to warm up and the rest was left up to us. The announcer shouted loudly with enthusiasm in his voice 3 2 1 and me along with the other nervous competitors took off running.
