A washed-up poem
(poem, 14 lines)

A Drunken Derelict

As your eyes sweep the bar room ,
Slowly excavating an abandoned tomb,

If you saw yourself would you know,
Or just go on with the alcohol-fueled show,

Such a spectacle holds only one revelation,
That your moral character has caved to temptation,

Oh my friend I miss you and your funny quirks,
But now all my eyes see are a jerk,

How did you stoop to this level,
Your eyes bloodshot and hair disheveled,

Please my friend, step away from the abyss,
Stop treating the bottle with your kiss,

It is not too late my friend,
There is hope coming up around the sobering bend.
