After a drought, rainclouds gathered.
Soothing sight, the heavens collapsing
Dripping clumsily on my dampened skin,
A stinted silence with a stranger,
"Awful weather isn't it?",
I nod politely but I think it's a picture of beauty.

The water caresses my bones
Hairs on edge, water glistening,
No regret or fury remains,
Frozen, bruised, skin was merely a blanket of dead cells,
Your cage has been washed, you're pure again.

All feeling rendered dumb
Numb contention,
Water dripping from your eyes,
You clench your fist, droplets illuminate from white knuckles,
Purposeful, you stand, you smile, you exist.
