yet another poem about the woman I cannot have
“Far”
Far from your love is where I now live.
Far from your touch and the warmth that you give.

Far from your passion and far from your kiss.
If I could have you and hold you not a moment I’d miss.

If you’d give me your love a treasure I’d hold,
Never to be traded and never to be sold.

I’d honor each moment with a love of my own.
My love would sustain you through life’s bitter cold.

A greater love than mine you never will find.
Our love would be forever not tied down by time.

Each day it would grow and never would die.
Each moment you’d see it in the look in my eyes.

To know that sweet love is my only wish.
To feel that passion through your warm tender lips.

I can go on and on but words fall short to define,
The love that I’d show you if I could just make you mine.
