Soundless clinking of chains,

Circling each bowl speaking of hunger.

An obsolete pendulum, swinging

Listlessly on a faceless clock.

Garbage, food for thought.

A dog's breakfast bought at Tiffany's.

What will the almighty dollar do?

When the horn of plenty has run out.

Will people still be giving thanks?
