Something I wroteafter I finished my homework in class, let me know what you think!

My Poem

My heart flutters when I see him,

It simply bursts when he is near.

My heart leaps when he is smiling,

and almost stops when he is here.

My heart falls when he's unhappy

and sinks when he's in despair.

My heart breaks when he is hurt

but he doesn't know I care.

I wish that he could see,

there's more to me,

then what I project to the world.

I wish he could see,

there's a part of me,

I'm dying for him to meet.

The one who really cares,

what other people think.

The one who sometimes appears,

but you'll miss her if you blink.

The one who cries when she thinks

of the one's she loves leaving.

The one who knows, more then anyone,

looks can be deceiving.

Right now you think you know me,

but you're wrong, no one does.

No one knows why I am who I am,

because I'm not the girl I was.

I know what it feels like,

to be sad and all alone.

To feel like no one's listening,

like you're never really home.

But I've conquered all my fears,

and destroyed all my guilt.

I've taken down my enemies,

and a new image I have built.

Now I'm not afraid of anything.

I'm impervious to pain.

I stand up for myself,

and I do things for my own gain.

Because I know if I don't stand up,

then no one ever will.

I've overcome all obstacles,

I've climbed another hill.

I love myself for who I am,

I hope you understand.

You have to let me be me,

don't make me change again.
