A brief introduction.
How to read a poem

I approach with trembling hands,
my heart fluttering,
as I stare down at the page.

Words dance before my eyes.

Should I read them fast and furious, with little time to catch my breath as I stroll across the white leaf,
or slow,
deliberate,
with caution,
soaking in every word,
as they sit
upon the page?

Are they quiet and meek,
Or loud and obnoxious!

Does it fall into line,
                                                 Or meander,
                   back and forth,
                                                                     fluttering
                             to a subtle end.

Am I the one in the poem,
or is the author speaking to me,
leading me to higher ground
and greener pastures?

Is the message hidden?
Is there a riddle to be solved?
Do I take wisdom for another day,
or enjoy the beauty of the moment?

What exactly is within this passage?
Let us all discover
it’s hidden meanings
together!
