Someone asked me to write about their smile.
So simple a smile can persuade us
Silence our fears, search our souls.

Such an aspect you embody!
Nay, embody isn't right to write -
You are such an entity,
Because it defines you -
Or do you define it?

Often on a date with chuckle or giggle,
It eases gently into any situation,
Sliding right into place as if by grand design.

Ignore the claims of quotes:
It is no longer the second best thing you can do with your lips.

To express oneself in this way
Is to reveal that bright inner self,
Which, once released,
Is nigh impossible to forget
And even harder to ignore.

What innocence! What grace!
What a glowing grimace!
A visage of virtue
And a simper of such elegance!

Words written cannot describe it.
It can only be experienced to truly understand it.
This rhythm merely exists to point that out.

1918 never saw a pandemic like this,
Never could have imagined how contagious
(How profoundly contaminating!)
What you wear becomes.

Do you wear it?
No, you cannot wear what you are.
It simply reveals itself,
A newborn chick emerging from an egg;
A miracle performed perfectly.

We all become jaded in such a sense...
Since when has sense been,
And what did sense become?
Have you shaped it to your will?
Will it become more or less than what was?

I can only vouch for what I believe.
Therefore, I can state satisfactorily so:
Beauty resides not only in your soul,
but your smile.
