Tribute to deceit
Everything was muffled inside her head, not one clear thought would come.
Again? Again?
Slowly her reality sprung back into place despite the eyes that closed tight against the truth.
Betrayal came in so many forms, hidden in the subtle mechanisms of man.
Trust, a most fragile gift of oneself, shatters under the pressure of guilt bestowed like a red ribbon present under a tree.
Time, just a little time to understand, to learn...
Supposedly given but truly hidden in the guise of deceit.
So little to ask with so much at stake
But man in his innate selfishness strikes at the most vulnerable of spots in the heart.
Use. Misuse. Used to fulfill one need at the cost of another's.
Jumbled and mixed until right is made wrong and wrong is my sentence.
Once again the recipient of his fallen dreams
Made to pay with ever pressing knowledge that once again, again, again the never ending again, of trust misplaced.
