With a relationship gone sour; Alice wanted to get away to clear her mind ....

Creeping thoughts brought life to dormant memories;

Exhausted and puzzled, Alice stood by the garden reminiscing about friends and enemies.

Paralyzed by fear yet committed to comfort and safety;

The fairy tale in her dream repudiated the thoughts of insanity.

She reflected but dismissed the angry lust;

Afraid and lonely but seemingly aghast, desensitizing the feeling of trust.

Staring at a cloud of darkness drifting from space;

Now dusk transforming to fill the dark and scary place.

Echoing sounds of night's creatures whistled through luminous glow;

Like poetry to the inquisitive ear we seemingly know.

As the wind oozed by the clustered trees,

Alice craved for comfort and reached for her life-saving sweater to block the dusky breeze.
