A great day for a not quite neat freak! lol
The Happy Kitchen

Kicking around my empty kitchen
I'm just sayin’, I ain’t bitchin’
Everything's cleaned and in its place
All done no expression on my face

Not happy, not sad
It neither good or bad
It just how it’s done
Another chore won

The spouse on her forward journey
Sadly started out upon a gurney
Some days too long with stark miles
No children’s feet or happy smiles

The kids are grown
The birds have flown
An empty kitchen
I guess, I am bitchin’

Grand kids come and life is good
Makes life as right as it should
The kitchen is trashed
The dishes are massed

Nothing is in its place
Such a smile on my face
There’s no order to be seen
I see you know what I mean

No thoughts of dismay
I’ll surely smile and say
No glass is washed, and no fork is clean
No counter cleared, no chrome with gleam

This is the look of a happy room
Despite the fact it needs broom
This is no lonely man’s house
There’s no thought to grouse

The room is covered from end to end
All left for later, for back to bend
And all the while, my heart is freed
My happy kitchen is a mess indeed
