Leaving nature, and coming back to the world
When I find the moment or
if I've found the spot that speaks to me of truth
or beauty, all that the rest is not;
It is then that I almost touch the mountains,
become the fury of the sea,
and I want to hold that power
of what must have always meant to be

For it's the height, the power or the great expanse
that will inspire for just that moment to entrance,
Until (and then) I find the meadow
that shows me how to understand
to live my life as I see in that tiny spot of land.

And still I think that I can capture that calm knowledge
and bring it with me back to the world
of towering buildings, turbines of power, and churches
with banners unfurled.
