A poem based off Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.
To Burn

In the beginning he didn’t have to worry
About all of the fire he caused
He didn’t have to think about
Why his wife couldn’t handle reality

Then one young girl opens his eyes
For him to see how much destruction
He is causing
How much pain his life is

He continued on his work
But things weren’t the same anymore
Things got out of hand
And death came into the picture

Burning was a pleasure
In the beginning
But now it only feels
Like a burden
