Personal Poem about a life I leave behind to start a better one
Tall, dark and handsome and full of self belief,
Is the man I lost my heart to, the man who became its thief.
I didn't know true live till I met him one day,
A day I now regret, I'm so sorry to say.
My life till he kissed me had been empty and fake,
Of love I had dreamed as I lay each night awake.
He came into my life and turned it upside down,
And for a few months I smiled and not frowned.
But then the fights started, and my tears began,
But the love I felt continued on.
I took all the insults, the lies, the abuse,
And even endured him plying my body out for use.
He would ply me with drink and lots of cocaine,
The invite men over to use me again and again.
He abused my body, my heart and my soul,
Making destroying me his only lifes goal.
But now he's moved on to someone new,
Leaving my destruction complete and my heart blue.
I was a believer briefly in love and serendipity,
Now all I believe in is my naive heart and total stupidity!
