The girl who started a fire is a story I thought of while sitting here in my room
As she sat there her arms stung like that of a million ant bites her arms swollen and spotted like a leopard.
" I'm ready for another hit Geremy she said as if the first two where not enough.
"I already gave you enough he said as to not overdose her young 110 pound body.
"it's been an hour Geremy common".
No I said you've had enough for a while".
As they sat in that old abandoned building on park street in the middle of downtown memphis. It was her birthday. That was her excuse after a month of sobriety. She had been picked up for shoplifting a month ago. It was a couple of tshirts that she couldn't resist at Jc pennies. She got 200 hours of comment service for A first time offense for a then 18 year old. But now she was 19 and she was ready to party. As if sitting in an abandoned building with her buddy greedy was what you would call a party. They sat there doped out of there minds for hours on end. A candle lit ceremony for her birthday.
"Kary" Geremy called she was nodding off pretty good after that last spoon of blissful solitude he just gave her. Any more and she would overdose he was sure of it. Geremy liked to smoke it but not Karey. Karey's passion was the needle. She loved that rush you only get with the needle. The ritual of breaking out the spoon heating the water till it boiled then mixing in that black death. Then hearing it up till it just barely boiled. Then mixing that tar up till it left you with a brown puddle to which you would cut up a piece of cigaret filter and put in the middle of. Now were cookin! Then you draw that concoction up into a one cc short needle and find a nice round vein that you can only get with the sinching of your belt around your arm. You find that vein and your good. You poke thAt needle in and draw a little back. No blood. Damn! Then you force the needle back in on that same vein and you see the blood flow into the body of the syringe. Were good. Then you push the poison in your vein untill it's all gone. Just to make sure you got it all you draw some more blood into the syringe and pump it back into you vein and it is all good. Releasing the belt now and here comes that rush. Mmm it feels so good as it overtakes your body. It's that warm rush that does it for you every time. This is what Karey was after on her birthday night and she got it. Thanks to her buddy Geremy. She nodded out now once again she was deep into her mind now thinking of childhood memories. She was ten and swinging on a swing. The grass so green around her in that pink dress she loved with her little black buckle shoes. Swinging an singing her favorite song.
"London bridge is falling down falling down the London bridge is falling down my fair lady. Singing her favorite song as she would swing higher and higher. Mtgs sky now getting dark and kind of greenish. The wind now picking up. All she could hear where the sounds of the swing and the wind blowing harder now and harder. The wind blowing so hard now it's hard to even swing into it. Then on the horizon the clouds forming into a funnel. The clouds swirling ever so softly now off in the distance. Now the clouds funneling to the ground way off in the distance her heart beating now ever so hard in her little chest. The tornado off in the distance now tearing up fences and debri shooting off the storm in all directions. She couldn't move from the swing as she watched the storm from her pasture. Nothing but a field of grass an the next town separated her from the storm as it ripped through the next town over. The storm now heading right for her. She now got up and began to run but there was no where to hide all she could do is run and run the tornado bearing down on her like a lion hunting down a gazelle. The storm now swirling behind her the debri now around her then as she ran a fence part knocked her down and as she lay there the tornado bearing down on her she woke up and there she was in that abandoned two story building in downtown Memphis. Wow how long was I out for Geremy.
Geremy replied you nodded out for a couple of seconds or so are you ok
"Ya" she said. "it felt like I was out for hours"
"that's that smack" he said
