Song about a sinner who goes to hell
Dead

I’d been shot through the heart

When they found me at a quarter to seven

A report filed at mortuary eleven

Claimed I died from the bullet of a .357

Flashing thunder light couldn’t save me

Nor could any fancy quick incision

At the hands of a pioneering surgeon

The chips are down the wheel has turned

Full circle now this is the end for me

Going down going down

I know I’ve been a sinner and a non believer

So the chance of going to heaven will be pretty slim

Yeah, yeah now that I’m dead

I should have been asleep yeah should have been a dreamer

Spending all my time in deep slumber

Yeah in my bed

I reached my destination but no gates of pearly white

As I suspected no comforting bright light

Only nothingness set in an eerie twilight

Just then a strange looking man came up to meet me

In his hands a register and a key

I said I got no money mister if there’s an entrance fee

He said I want your soul its pay back time

For that hell bent life you spent on crime to me

Going down, going down

I know I’ve been a sinner and a non believer

So the chance of going to heaven will be pretty slim

Yeah, yeah now that I’m dead

I should have been asleep yeah should have been a dreamer

Spending all my time in deep slumber

Yeah in my bed
