A small poem marking my return to the site after a long absence. Hope you enjoy.
Ride with us tonight

Ride through the edge of the world

Through the cloudy landscapes of dreams

Through the leaden seas of nightmare

Across fields of endless war

And upstream on rivers of black blood

Ruined cities of ancient power

Standing like petrified giants in the desert

The statues of the gods
Weeping glassy tears that fall and shatter

Ride with us through the nebula

Through the starry skies
Over sleeping cities with warm homes
Where children that have fallen asleep by the fire

And never dismount
Hold tight on to your winged dragon

Never dismount

Until you reach
That summer’s noon
That old tree
That story book
Your own City in the Sunset.
