The loss of innocence and spirit to the day to day task of living.
What happened,
little girl?

To the flame in your eyes?
Youth's smile,
With it's golden lights,
Sacrificed,
To tears that we cry.

Something has gone missing,
Something precious,
That was lost.

That beastly burden of survival,
What a light to you
has cost.
