“I love these!” exclaimed the King of Hearts, “but… what are they?”
“Ooh just something I made up myself, just for you. My little secret” answered the Queen.
“Where’s Jack? We must share them with him!”
“I’ll get him, sir,” said the King and Queen’s Joker, a far too happy little man, with a silly hat, which had bells at the end of it.
“How… nice…” said the Queen quietly.

Jack, the King’s best friend, arrived a couple minutes later, being led by the Joker who was prancing around like a deer.

“What is it, my King?”
“How many times do I tell you to stop calling me that?” said the King with a smile on his face, “I am your friend, and you will… treat me that way. Okay?”
“Yes my friend,” answered Jack.
“Now, try –“

The King of Hearts was cut off mid-sentence. His face swelled up and turned blue, and he collapsed onto the floor.
“Oh my!” yelled Jack.
“Someone, get some help!” yelled the Queen, “call 9-1-1!”
“9-1-1!” yelled the Joker.
The Queen gave him a daring look.
“I think he’s just sleeping,” said Jack.
“Oh good,” said the Queen in a sarcastic tone of voice.

Once the medics arrived to help out the King, the Queen snuck off to her room, and started writing a note. She tied it to a pigeon, which she let fly out the balcony window.

The next morning, in a different city, not too far away, a pigeon flew into the room of the King and Queen of Clubs.
“Oh my, what is this?” asked the Queen.
“A letter, with a heart-shaped seal on it, it must be from the Hearts,” explained the King.
“Open it, what does it say?”
The King of Clubs opened the letter and read it aloud, “Dear Royalty of the Clubs, My husband, the King of Hearts, has been poisoned by a foul cookie in which I have made him, he is in a coma and will not awaken for some time, if you have any desire to attack this city, you should strike now, by this time I will have already fled to the Diamonds’, and will be safe from any harm you would bring. You must be wondering why I’ve done this, and I’ll tell you: The King of Hearts was a bit too friendly with his best friend, Jack, and I will not accept that. Kings need their Queens. Do with them what you will, Sincerely, The Queen of Hearts.”
“… wow,” said the Queen of Clubs.
“I say we do it, attack.”
“It’s a trap!”
“No my Queen, it is not, I know the Queen of Hearts, and she does not lie, her heart is too pure.”
“But she poisons her husband for us to plunder their villages?”
“He was impure to her, it’s what he deserves.”
“In your opinion…” said the Queen.
“We’re attacking, tonight. End of story. They all lived happily ever after, buh-bye.”

Meanwhile, at the Diamonds’ palace, the Queen of Hearts burst through the doors. The guards at the side both rushed to meet her.

“Careful! Now, I need to talk to the King and Queen of Diamonds.”
“Of course, Queen of Hearts, of course.”

The guards, both with numbers marked onto the armour on their shoulders, led the Queen of Hearts to the thrones of the King and Queen of Diamonds.

“What is it, Queen of Hearts?” asked the Diamond Queen.
“I need a place to stay, for the land of the Hearts is being attacked by the clubs, and I’ve the only one who escaped,” explained the Queen of Hearts.
“The Clubs attacked you? Why?” asked the King.
“My husband was poisoned, and went into a deep sleep, so my kingdom was in a state of shock, and the Clubs must have had a spy watching over us, because they attacked instantly,” explained the Queen of Hearts.
“How did you get away though?” asked the Diamond Joker, who was leaning against the wall behind the Queen of Hearts. She hadn’t even noticed him.
“I… they didn’t seem to notice me I guess.”
“In the raid of a palace, wouldn’t the King and Queen be put on top priority to find and capture?”
“You would think so, but what if they come here next? This is the kingdom with all of the treasure, you are the land of the Diamonds, I bet the Clubs will come here right after dealing with my kingdom.”
“You may be right, Heart. Joker, assemble the top ranks. Get the Ace.”
“The Ace, my lord?” asked the Joker.
“The Ace,” repeated the King.
“Thy will be done.”

The Joker quickly jumped off to go find the Ace of Diamonds, the strongest fighter they had in their ranks. It wasn’t long before the Joker came back, alone.

“Well where is the Ace?” asked the King.
“The Ace… is missing.”

The King and Queens all gasped at the news. The Ace was the most loyal, strong, and dependent person in all the land of the Diamonds.

“We need to find that Ace!” barked the King, “Go!”

In a ruined city, far away from the three major cities, walked the Ace of Diamonds. A warrior in glistening armour, and a sword and shield made purely of Diamond. There also sat a diamond tiara on the Ace’s head, the Ace of Diamonds was a strong female warrior.

The Ace walked by destroyed towers and buildings, over rubble and burnt items that peppered the ground; she was in the ruins of the magical Spades. She felt bad for leaving her kingdom on such a low note, but she owed a friend a favour, and had to find a special flower that had been nicknamed “Cootie”.

The Spades were long ago destroyed, when the Kings and Queens of this time weren’t even born yet. The Spades were wiped out when the King had snapped, and went on a rampage alongside his Ace, burning down the buildings in his own kingdom. The other cities had heard of that, and teamed up one time to wipe them all out, and the Spades never were seen again, wiped off the face of the earth.

The flower, in which the Ace of Diamonds was looking for, was one that only grew in the land of the Spades, and had magical properties, and could heal many wounds and sicknesses.

Meanwhile, the members of the Clubs were destroying the kingdom of Hearts. Some warriors were matched in skill, but the Aces from both sides tore through everyone, burning down the buildings along the way.

The Ace of Clubs, and the Ace of Hearts finally met up with each other, and had a stare down. Each Ace sheathed their swords and walked towards each other slowly. Behind each Ace, three other members from their kingdoms lined up, to protect their powerful ally.

The four Clubs and four Hearts continued to stare at each other, until a fifth member from both sides appeared, and ran at towards one another. The Heart soldier swung at the Club with his sword, but the Club ducked, and used his mace to uppercut the Heart, knocking him out.
The Ace of Clubs took the opportunity to lash out at the Ace of Hearts, and cut him down, and his three companions took care of the three remaining Hearts with ease.

The Clubs continued to raid and plunder the kingdom of Hearts, destroying all of the towers and buildings, burning down anything that stood, and cutting down anyone in their way.

Back at the palace of Diamonds, the Queen of Hearts was hidden away with the Queen of Diamonds, as the King readied his army. This was war, and he would not lose an opportunity to rid the world of the Clubs.

“We will be ready, with or without the Ace,” announced the King to his army of Diamond warriors.
“But we will be destroyed, especially by the Ace of Clubs!” yelled one of the weaker Diamonds, this one had a two on his shoulder plate.
“No. I will be joining this effort,” explained the King.
“No offense, your majesty, but the Ace could even take you down,” said another soldier.
“Not as easy as you though,” said the King with a smirk on his face.
“To war, men and women, to war. Head to the kingdom of Hearts, now,” commanded the King.

His army left the area, marching to the Hearts’ land. The Joker approached the King after everyone had left, “Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, join in the effort?”
“Yes, I am sure of it.”
“Alright, I’ll accompany you.”
“Thank you, Joker, let’s go.”

Meanwhile, the Ace of Diamonds had wandered the ruins of the Spades, and found the flower she had been looking for. It was beautiful, but she had to act fast. She plucked the flower out of the ground, and started running to the kingdom of Hearts.

The Clubs had taken everything down in their path to the palace of Hearts, where the weakened King was supposed to be lying. The Ace led the other warriors of Clubs right to the palace doors, and stood in front of them.

“Clubs! We have been waiting for this moment for most of our lives, the ridding of another Suit! This has not been done since the old ages when the Spades were destroyed! Today, we write history! Follow me!” roared the Ace of Clubs.

The Clubs ran into the Hearts’ palace, taking out a few weak guards on the way. But when they reached the end of the palace, to where the King should be lying, was empty.

“Where is he?” yelled the Ace.
“Too late,” said a voice from the distance.

A man walked from the shadows of the corner, and approached the army of Clubs.

“Too late? What do you mean?” asked the Ace.
“He’s gone, safe, away. You fell for it, you all did.”
“Explain yourself, or you will get a club to the head.”

“The King knew about the Queen’s plot to poison him, and had sent a letter to the Ace of Diamonds explaining the situation. He then let the Queen poison him, so she would flee to the Diamonds’, and the Clubs would attack here. The Jack of Hearts had already made a plan with the Jack of Diamonds, and the two of them moved the Kings body as soon as the Queen departed, and the Jack of Diamonds explained it all to the Joker, so that the Joker could warn the King and Queen of Diamonds. The Ace of Diamonds ran to get a flower from the ruins of the Spades, that would heal the King, so he could be awake for this moment, him and the Ace of Diamonds are off, gone, at your kingdom, the palace of Clubs, while all of you are here, attacking his. But the difference is, your King and Queen will be gone, and the Hearts’ will be alive, so they can rebuild. The Diamond Joker has taken care of the Queen of Hearts, who was going to be replaced by the Jack of Hearts anyways. And now the Clubs will end up like the ancient Spades, gone, without a remaining survivor.”

The man who had explained this all, was an unknown member of the land, with an “R” on his chest plate. He wielded a blade with a particular handle; the bottom of it had an onyx jewel, in the shape of a spade.

The man wiped out the remaining Clubs, at the same time, a city away, the King of Hearts and the Ace of Diamonds took care of the King and Queen of Clubs, erasing the suit from the war. In the land of the Diamonds, the Joker had just rid the world of the evil Queen of Hearts, and was reporting to his King and Queen.

With the clubs gone, the Hearts and Diamond knew what was to come next; they would be split up and forced against each other, until only one person stood alive. This was war.
