Describes the love of man smitten by a proud woman blessed with an almost divine beauty.
Flawless contours of a faultless face;

My mind mystified, fails to differentiate

An unsheathed dagger and a warm embrace,

Substantial love and undisguised hate.



Yet, perfection begets pride,

And such pride in turn will break

Relations, new and tried

Without reason, without mistake.



Slowly I watch your vanity minnow;

Pride shattered in a crowded place,

In time what you reap you sow,

An ageing visage of great disgrace.



Vulnerability reveals humanity;

Faith that you will atone,

Our hands clasp in unity

And a whisper, 'You're not alone'.
