Gettin' warmer...
I remember the time when I almost saw Boo Radley.
There was a bad fire at Miss Maudie's house across the street, and Jem and I had to stand outside in the snow in front of the Radley place.
The snow in Alabama was strange, and it was the first time I'd ever seen snow. I was so cold standing outside. I wanted to go back inside, but I knew I couldn't, because it was possible that the wind could blow the fire from Maudie's house to our house. I didn't wanna be trapped inside if that happened.
I stood there in a daze, next to Jem. I didn't even realize when someone draped a blanket over my shoulders.
I was later told that Boo Radley came out of his house to put that blanket on me. I was disappointed. It was the first time Boo Radley came out, and I missed it.
