A Christmas Wish




"Noel..."

The ghosts of the never-were
are pausing within me -
peeking and whispering "hello's"
while the scented candles burn on.
Tinsel glistening, sparkling - lying,
with vacant shimmering fractured smiles
beckoning... me to the emptiness.

"Si - i - lent Ni i ight,  Ho ol ly Ni i ight..."

I wished so hard upon every star -
every last one... but we all know
what wishes are...
more of life
un-done.
