A first meeting...what are they feeling? Written from both perspectives
I inch along the limbs of life,
Looking for that perfect one.
Alas, the good ones; taken all
Doomed to live without a wife.

Amid the crowded walk I see
Nestled 'neath the shaded leaves,
A figure yea, so plump and round
Could she be the one for me?

To be so bold to closer get,
I inch my way to her side.
Courage now, just speak to her,
"Excuse me, have we ever met?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll never find the perfect mate.
I am doomed to life alone.
The others leave and I just stay
Wrapped in loneliness; I wait.
Out on a branch, what do I see;
Moving slowly, inch by inch.
Slender, handsome, silky and smooth,
My leaves quiver; he's looking at me.
He's closer now, my dream come true.
Should I speak or should I not?
"Excuse me, have we ever met?"
"No, but I've been waiting just for you."
