Poem for a competition describing Spring Flowers
Spring Flowers

A Lily's form is scented sweet,
An Iris vivid, sworn to meet,
Those to whom life is cold,
Withered hearts may be mould,
To joy with a tender heart,
From sodden turf to warmth filled hearth!

All gathered in their glorious gaze,
The colour smash their lifeless cage,
The scent that fills the stricken air,
Is freed to flow with gracious care,
Treasure this the best of days,
The freshest form of loving praise!

The Meek scale the roses thorn,
Innocent sinners are born this dawn,
Chapped lips, moisten fast,
As elegant petals rise the mast,
Stalks of green, shimmer gold,
The beauty of life, a sight to behold!
