                                                                                                                                                                        January 22, 2012

Dear my only son,

Maybe while you are reading this I’m already on the airplane. I know how much you wanted to accompany me but due to your responsibilities in your school you weren’t able to. I hope ate Impa gave this letter to you as early as possible. My only son, even though you are not yet graduate from college your father and I are really proud of you. You know that your father and I were not able to finish or even reached the education you have now.  Even your sisters except Sheila are not graduates.  I know you have your dreams my son and you want to get it early. But my son, don’t be in a hurry. Your journey is long. You have more things to do. Now, just focus on your studies. Choose your friends carefully, do not skip your meals, and never forget to pray.

My son, now that I’m not beside you I cannot guide you thoroughly. This letter may serve us my advices to you. My son, help your sisters first before you get married. You know your ate’s are struggling for their family. They found it hard to earn money, even their husbands because they are not graduates. Learn from us my only son.  In the time you are earning money help our family, even not me. Just your sisters and your nephew Geoffrey and niece Keith. Send them to school my son and this would make me and your father very happy.

After your papa have gone our life became harder. Learn from the mistakes he did. Do not smoke cigarette. But you know how you papa strive for our family. I’m very sorry my son that I will left you. You know everything that I am doing is for you and your future. As I help you, help yourself my son. Reach for your dream.

I’m looking forward that I will get back soon. I’ll just earn money to finance your expenses in school.

                                                                                                                                                                          Sincerely Yours,

                                                                                                                                                                              Mommy
