I wrote it in five minutes. Sometimes things just pop in my head.
Serving a Life Sentence

I’m in for life
Serving a life sentence
Praying for penance
Hoping my sins will be forgiven

The Judge said no possibility for parole
I pray God take my soul
I’ve been here for more the twenty years
Digging myself a bigger hole
I stole his heart, my love was true
We once were stuck like glue

I’m in for life
I am his wife
We vowed till death do us part
Our love that once flourished has diminished
I know in my heart that it’s finished
I’m serving my time waiting for penance.

I’m in my cell
No need to dwell
I’m serving a life sentence
Praying for penance
Since the day he lifted my veil
I’m serving a life sentence
