A micro short story delving into the reality that life isn't like the movies.
There weren’t any sparks or flashes of lights behind their eyes. There was no electrical current flowing through the fingers that grasped, clutched and ravaged the other and no fireworks went off in their brains.

Music didn’t suddenly begin playing from some dark hidden depth of the night, lightning didn’t strike anywhere in the vicinity and neither a rainbow nor a shooting star appeared over their heads.

Their knees didn’t buckle and shivers didn’t course through their bodies as they pressed tightly together. There was no melting of their hearts and neither of their bright minds drew blank.

Their eyes didn’t slip shut and the outside world didn’t disappear. There was no taking away of breath or sighs of contentment and there was no whimper for loss of contact as it came to an end.

There were no whispered promises for tomorrow, no gentle caresses and no smiles.

There was only the cruel harsh reality that this was no movie, and only in movies did people like them get happy endings.
