Thoughts of past wars and heroes
Memorial Day

If I had one day to remember, it is today.
Though not that I enjoy war.
In fact I would rather hear all say,
Lets not kill anyone more.

There is nothing gained but loss of life,
when under a guise of a flag.
Or pressuring others, to see with your sight,
with nationalism as your rag.

I know this may anger, a few if not more,
and I can appreciate why.
But think of this, before you let scorn,
make your eyes well up and cry.

I once thought it noble, as many still do,
to die with honor and service.
But looking back, at how we still rule,
and it all seems of no purpose.

So although I still honor, our fallen heros,
I think I've found a better way.
I joined God's army, to fight the real evil,
that is where I steadfast stay.

And I will pray, that all who were brave,
take note something was so wrong.
And when you are rasied, from out of the grave,
that you listen to God's peaceful song.
