I guess this could relate to anything in life, I hope my message is recieved.
I have been here before.
And I welcome the familiar sight of this shore.
Too many men have braved the storm.
And ended up on the isle forlorn.
Though headstrong I took the chance
Through the storms pounding waves I made my advance.
Through these waves I toiled and tumbled
Into these unforgiving seas, becoming once more humbled.
Because I braved these seas once again
To find only one friend
She had warned me once of the danger
But, I boasted I am no stranger
Through the storms I termed and toiled
Just as a my heart had boiled
I crashed upon the land
And found another sailor and took his hand
I talked to him and heard him fret
I said to him “have no regrets”.
For me and you have braved this sea
We lost, but we fought valiantly
Though my ship is beaten and battered on this coast
Sailing this storm I will always boast
For me; it matters not, the journey
I could meet my end upon the gurney
I have done what many men will
But at the end I will not be ill.
For the storms give me cause
And it is the eyes that give me pause
For the beauty I have encountered there, cannot be equaled
And I hope that someday there shall be a sequel
Though these hopes are made unfounded
Just to see the storm again I’d be astounded
For what I’ve seen shook me from my feet
Though sailing it took months, It seemed only a heartbeat
There was much taken, but little lost
But what was taken, I care not the cost
I have conquered my fears and a lesson is learned
Still I know the storm is what I yearn.

Now let me recount the desperate day
When the seas were calm, and I rode astray.
I built my ship and off , I did go
Finding calm seas didn’t seem so
So I set these sails and headed North
I was not scared to venture forth
I have been this way once before
And unlocked Poseidon’s door
For on this journey I did not seek pleasure
I sought something to pursue at my leisure
But one night I did not seek refuge
Sailing I went into a massive deluge
Fighting the waves was a battle, better naught.
I was no better, a raft forgot
But soon the storm had settled
Then I had found myself nettled
I prayed for the waves to come back
Then moments later my ship was sacked
Though the sails did twist and turn
To be in the storm I yearn
Though I did battle and try
I was no longer in the calm of her eye
I found myself sinking in the sea
And I thought “how can this be?”
I tried to stand strong through the rattle and rumble
But I am only man so I was bound to stumble
Without messenger I had nothing to report
I found my ship sinking a hole in the port.

So this I tell you, the day of my sail
When the captain knew he was bound to fail
I hope to venture again
But never again will I be so vain.
