My best friend is very ill, and getting weaker, and I am scared for her.
Gracious and Most Holy God, as I come before you with my eyes closed and my head bowed
I am not sure whether I want to cry out or just simply scream and shout
My friend is sick Lord, and she is very scared about her health and her life
The doctor says that her heart is entirely too weak to go under the knife

Now, her body seems to be failing her when she needs it the most
She has children Lord and grandchildren and great grandchildren that she wants to see grow
But her body is failing her from inside out, and she just don't want to let go
I feel her pain,I hear the fear in her voice, and I don't want to see her walk through that door

Praying for her Lord is my escape from her pain, her tears, and her fear
My friend has been suffering so much throughout this entire year
Her life is upside down, and she knows that she is treading on dangerous ground
My friend's life seems to be running out of time, but I want you to keep her around

She's always been a fighter, and very feisty when she was on her game
Now, this new way of life with oxygen tanks, insulin, pills, and other things she just ain't the same
Her heart is weak and her lungs and kidneys are not working too good because of years of abuse
You know what I'm talking about God because you're the one that changed her for your use

She's very sick Lord, and without your help and intervention there just is no way out
I have stopped by here Lord on my way to bed to take a moment to expose my doubts
Praying loudly, Lord asking for your mercy, and to take away my awful feelings of doom and dread
I want to be strong for my friend Lord when I go to visit her laying there on her hospital bed

Great friend that I am, I just can't possibly think about her being dead
We have been friends for so many years it seems to me that we were always looking ahead
Through thick and thin, through good times and bad times, I could count on my friend
Now she seems so weak and frail, Lord, I don't want our friendship to end

Call me shallow, call me weak, but the thought of losing my friend makes me weep
Sadness covers my mind, my thoughts, and my dreams as I think of her lying there so weak
I know that you answer prayers, because you silently answered my prayer for our little dancer
But this time, my friend and I need to hear your voice as you grant us with your answer!

You know my heart, and you know her needs
That is why I am sitting here begging you Lord, Please
Lord, we have run out of options, but YOU know what to do!
Please heal my friend who has always been a friend that will be true blue!
