Missing a girl that I don't really know, Somewhere in amongst the bedsheets she glows.
It’s Sunday evening and the cool breeze has set in for the final chapter,

After a brutal heat during the day, it could increase the chance of a fever.

For an unknown reason to his mind, a clock wound up and started ticking,

And tocking, at a consistently amplified rate of volume and timing.

He rolled around and around, twisting and turning until the sheet bound him tightly,

The pupils in his eyes didn’t dilate on opening, it was still night; delightfully.

He hadn’t dreamt for only fifteen minutes of sleep over the entire cool summer night,

It was still another seven and a half hours away until the next encounter of daylight.

His eyes stared at the ceiling, as he blinked away the fan’s cool breeze on dry eyes,

The ceiling was mundane; his thoughts kept his brain rolling along with inner sighs.

It wasn’t a lamentation, no grief in his conscience as his body continued to stir,

His mind was racing, longing, craving and yearning to know more about Her.

His mind had wrapped itself around itself, a continual spiral of insomnia,

As it pushed and pulled in and around the septic reasoning surrounding paranoia.

What is it surrounding the indescribable sleeping patterns, the mountain of stress,

It would be the same as the night before, where life and his thoughts couldn’t digress.

His eyes opened again, as car lights silhouetted along the window’s curtains,

The car screeched along, lights falling down the walls like angel-winged fountains.

Mind continued to drift, lost in a sea of despair; the only unhappy sense is yesteryear,

His thoughts felt indecipherable, the oscillation of good and bad wouldn’t disappear.

The mind wandered around like a warped joy ride where thoughts could not decrease,

He was a solider who continued on after the order was received that fire should cease.

As he sighed into his covers, he knew his mind was turning into a gun without bullets,

In every blink, it was only a matter of time before the mind’s inspiration plummets.

A time of yesteryear, when the pillow beside him was taken up by a goddess,

Now is bare, blank and cold, after life became a mirror that shattered into a mess,

His mind was now fully alive, swimming along in the Pacific Ocean of discontent,

No shore in sight, just another night alone filled with a past that wouldn’t augment.

It was delight of the past that, no matter how much he tried, he could no way forget,

Where two lives merged into one, skipping merrily along in life direct from the outset.

This tangential feeling had to change, not torn like Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca,

Time to think about future, starting with the small subcontinent island of Sri Lanka.

It was at a jeweller in Kandy; coffee in hand when he first saw that complete wonder,

He couldn’t buy it, but it most certainly lit up the Earth on a day that threatened thunder.

As he walked away, he knew he wouldn’t see something so pure ever again in his life,

Until a cold day in the sun produced a sight that pierced his heart with a sharp knife.

He was no more than introduced to a lady in white, flowing long hair and skin tanned,

Her glasses just removed, a fire inside burnt him to a point he couldn’t withstand,

She smiled as he looked her in the eyes, and what fired back was Blue Zircon,

A sparkling precious gem, that wasn’t supposed to exist but in the mines of Ceylon.

The mix of Electric, Maya and Tiffany Blue left him mesmerised and speechless,

Her smile transfixed him, and all of a sudden, he was left astonished and anxious.

Whoever she was; be it playful, nasty, with a super strong will or a caring persona,

He was stunned at those deep blues, almost frozen inside; a bit of an alive coma,

Time was of the essence; none of it to waste and patience was never part of his virtue,

Before she turned, where the Zircon Eyes would be gone and he’d be unable to pursue

A life-changing two moments, and this one He knew all along what was the score,

To introduce himself, and have a chat, in a chance that he’ll get to know Her more.

He did, he remembered as he blinked, and loosened the sheets as he rolled to the right,

That pillow is empty; a voice from the past was never going to reply goodnight.

But, in the morning the sun will rise again, a new beginning arrives with every dawn,

With its endless possibilities and opportunities; ones that cannot be withdrawn.

Nor ignored; a path of enlightenment has been spawned within the Blue Zircon iris,

With a happiness neighbouring his every thought; what a late night to be conscious!

They’ll meet again soon, another chance to fall under her spell of eyelash and smile

Surrounding those lovely eyes; he was hopeful, he’d know her for quite a long while.

The alarm removed her from his dream, as the dawn had broken on a day of promise,

Another sun was upon the world, where everyone could walk around without solace.

No more than three hours at full sleep, sunglasses become a necessity for the heat,

Despite the pain that would ensue throughout his day, his world would remain upbeat,

The sky was a clear blue; the bus was royal; his full Windsor knot was of deep navy,

Every single thing he saw was considered to be a piece intimate profound beauty,

Even though the day may be mixed full of emotions, everyone on different pathways,

The Blue Zircon Angel had relieved all horror from the world with her sweet gaze.
