In which our hero learns to listen to the whole story before jumping into action.
He heard them whisper in the night
Of beauty, gold, and of green land.
He listened to the plan that might
Bring them the riches in one stand.

He lost his breath when all have pledged
To brace themselves against the sight
Of humid eyes and looks that dredged
Men's heart when moon and stars shone bright.

He rode his horse until it fell,
Through glades and streams with angry froth.
He crawled through caverns wet with smell
Of death and yet kept to his troth.

He'd save the maiden with large eyes
And so he drew his sword, but how
Amazed was he, and let out cries
When there he found, behind the bough

The golden statue of a cow.
