Cry a tear for me
As I shed all of my own
Upon the page they flow
Bleeding such words
Has become my way
Hemorrhaging
All that I know
Staining the world
In varying colors of distress
Allowing strangers
To see into the depths
Of this fragile heart
That beats within my chest
I was given this gift
At such a terrible price
I do what I can
What I feel I must
I hold nothing back
How could I ever
I will write as I do
Until I am through
Until death claims me true
Offering me much needed relief
God will hold me close
In his kingdom I will be silent
Nothing of me will be required
There will no longer be a need
For me to escape my fears
With such words on a page
Because I will have none
So if you feel you must
If it helps you through
Cry a tear for me
Much appreciation
In the form of words
Will be returned
If you are willing to continue
To read and understand
All that I will try so hard to say
Before the end of my days
And the peace that awaits…
